Trustee Dawn Danko Hamilton Central Mountain Ward 7 Public School Trustee 2014 Municipal Election HWDSB

Updating Our Educational Environment With Greenspace and Outdoor Classrooms

Dear Friends in Ward 7:

One of the key planks in my election platform is a focus on upgrading the educational environment at our local schools.

I will hold the board accountable for their promises to upgrade the physical condition of our schools – but for me that is just a start.

My vision includes improvements to both the indoor and outdoor educational environment with projects that replace asphalt with landscaped greenspace, outdoor play amenities, outdoor classrooms and community gardens.

The recent conversion of 1,300 square feet of pavement at St. Margaret Mary elementary school is a perfect example of what can be done with a minimal budget.

If elected Trustee for Ward 7 – Hamilton Central Mountain, I will work to make sure that the Public School Board leads the way when it comes to both the indoor and outdoor educational environment we offer to our students.

Sincerely,

Dawn Danko

Public School Trustee Candidate

WHAT YOUR NEIGHBOURS SAY ABOUT DAWN DANKO

I know of no one else that would make a better Public School Trustee.

Community Member - Mother of Two

We need Trustees that know how to manage our tax money. Dawn is a small business owner - she understands where to cut wasteful spending.

Father of Three

Kids today don't know how to think for themselves and think they deserve everything. I'm voting for Dawn because she will bring some reality back to education.

Grandfather of Two, Father of Three

Dawn Danko has never shied away from a challenge in her life.  Dawn is smart, driven and has the experience we need for our new Trustee.

Dawn has my vote!

Resident - Ward 7, Hamilton Central Mountain

I was at the meeting at Sherwood High School on October 7 to check out the candidates for trustee for ward 7. I was impressed with Dawn Danko.  I had read what she had written in the Mountain News and saw the election signs in our neighbourhood, but otherwise knew nothing about her.  She was challenged twice during the meeting, but she didn’t back down from the issues.  She was able to explain her position in a concise, professional and confident manner.  I see her as someone who wouldn’t back down from difficult issues and would fight for what she is passionate about for the families and schools in ward 7.  She has my vote for trustee.
